The history of photography at Bioparc Valencia

Bioparc Valencia, inaugurated in 2008, has not only become a benchmark for family leisure and environmental education in the city, but also a space where photography has taken on a fundamental role in narrating the beauty of fauna and the importance of its conservation.

The beginnings:  In its early years, the Bioparc focused on establishing its visual identity and creating an immersive atmosphere for its visitors. Photography played a crucial role in this process, documenting the construction of the park, the arrival of the different species and the interaction of the animals in their new habitat.

Competitions and exhibitions:  over time, photography established itself as a tool to connect with the public and raise awareness about the need to protect biodiversity. The Bioparc began organizing photography contests, such as "Fotoparc", inviting amateurs and professionals to capture the essence of the park through their lenses.

Traveling exhibitions:  the images captured in the Bioparc have crossed the park's borders, giving rise to traveling exhibitions that have toured different cities in Spain and have even reached other countries. These samples have brought the public closer to the natural wealth of the park and the conservation work that is carried out.

Collaborations with photographers:  Biooparc Valencia has established relationships with renowned nature photographers, such as Pablo Chacón, who has made impressive reports about life in the park.
These collaborations have allowed the creation of high-quality material that is used for various purposes, such as publications, awareness campaigns and educational materials.

Social networks and hashtags :  Currently, social networks have become a fundamental channel to share the beauty of the Bioparc through images.
The park has an active community of photographers who share their snapshots on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, using hashtags such as #BioparcValencia and #FotoBioparc.
